Our Story
Lamar-Milledge Elementary School is nestled in the downtown community of Harrisburg. We are very fortunate to have ongoing and dedicated support from a number of community partners who tutor, donate book bags, clothing and various supplies, mentor and provide services that benefit not only the students, but aid the parents and community as well. Our school is named for Joseph Lamar, former Associate Supreme Court Justice and John Milledge, former Governor of Georgia. World famous students who have attended our school include – Brenda Lee (Recording Artist) and Vernon Forest (Former WBC Welterweight Champion).

College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) is Georgia’s statewide accountability system. The CCRPI assesses how well students are prepared for college and careers, and ensures that schools are focused on improving achievement among all students. The index measures student achievement on indicators such as content mastery, student growth on progress, subgroup performance on closing gaps, and various areas including Lexile performance, attendance, and other academic based measurements. Schools earn CCRPI points based on indicators that vary by grade and school level and align with measures of college- and career-readiness. Each individual component score is on a scale of 0-100.
