Principal's Update

Brenda Lee - Former Milledge Student
I have had the pleasure of seeing Brenda Lee, a famous singer, perform. Ms. Lee attended Milledge Elementary School. She received her 1st big break in show business right here in Augusta in 1956 at the Bell Auditorium. I attended her concert and was able to talk with her and receive her autograph.Stop by the school’s showcase to see the souvenirs.

Principal Robinson wants to foster a love a reading for pleasure for the students  by starting a Principal's Book Club. Participation in this club is voluntary, but all students are encouraged to participate. The club will meet the last Friday of the month.

LMES Lions' News

The Caldecott Medal Winner, Sibert Honor Book, and New York Times bestseller Locomotive is a rich and detailed sensory exploration of America’s early railroads. It is the summer of 1869, and trains, crews, and family are traveling together, riding America’s brand-new transcontinental railroad. The pages come alive with the details of the trip and the sounds, speed, and strength of the mighty locomotives; the work that keeps them moving; and the thrill of travel from plains to mountain to ocean.Hear the hiss of the steam, feel the heat of the engine, watch the landscape race by. Come ride the rails, come cross the young country! Read Locomotive.
